Climate Thinkathon is a three day intensive hackathon that aimed to help participants develop entrepreneurial ideas that contribute to climate action SDG. During the three days, participants received four hands-on training sessions that focused on SDGs, ideation, Business Model Canvas and Pitching. The hackathon took place in Ramallah with 30 participants and Gaza with 29 participants. Participants worked in teams of 5 members, and each team was assigned a dedicated mentor who has an established startup and very high experience in worldwide and local entrepreneurial competitions.

Impact

A pre/ post experimental design was used to evaluate the impact of the hackathon on participants. Participants were provided with two questionnaires which aimed to assess their knowledge on SDGs, climate action, entrepreneurship, the difference between incubation and acceleration, design thinking, business model canvas, and pitching to audience. The results revealed that participants had a statistically significant increase in their knowledge on SDGs, climate action, entrepreneurship, the difference between incubation and acceleration, design thinking, business model canvas, and pitching to audience.
